iHerb ships to the UK from its US warehouses, with prices in pounds and VAT already included. This page covers what you pay, which courier brings the parcel, what can't be sent, and what's changing with the £135 customs rule.
iHerb UK: does iHerb deliver to the UK?
Yes. iHerb sends UK orders by air from its warehouses in the United States, and the UK version of the site shows prices in pounds with VAT included. You don’t need a forwarding address or a middleman: the parcel comes to your door in Leeds or Bristol like any other online order.
The one setting that matters is the delivery country. Choose United Kingdom before you fill your basket: it decides which products you can buy, which couriers are offered and how tax is handled. For the general walkthrough, see how to order from iHerb.
iHerb delivery UK: couriers and timing
| Option | Who delivers | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Global Air (standard) | Royal Mail, Evri or Amazon Shipping | iHerb picks the courier; free above a basket threshold |
| DHL Express | DHL | faster, paid option |
| FedEx | FedEx | faster, paid option |
iHerb doesn’t publish fixed delivery times for the UK. The estimated delivery window shows at checkout, and air freight delays or customs checks can add a few days. Some couriers cap the order value to keep VAT and duty clearance simple, so a very large basket may need splitting.
iHerb VAT UK: what’s in the price
Since the UK left the EU VAT system in 2021, imports work like this:
- on consignments of £135 or less, the seller, not you, accounts for UK VAT at the point of sale, and iHerb includes VAT in its UK prices and pays it to HMRC;
- on consignments over £135, VAT and any customs duty are due at import, although iHerb’s UK delivery page says it intends to cover all VAT and duties on UK orders;
- gifts sent between individuals follow separate rules.
So on a normal iHerb order, the basket total is what you pay. If a courier asks you to pay VAT again, show your order confirmation first, as iHerb advises. If the courier insists, pay, ask for a formal receipt and send it to iHerb customer service for a refund.

iHerb customs UK: the £135 rule and what’s changing
As of October 2026, goods in consignments worth £135 or less come in free of customs duty under the low value imports relief. That’s why most iHerb orders arrive with nothing extra to pay.
This is set to change. In the Autumn Budget 2025 the government said it would remove the relief by March 2029. After a consultation that closed on 6 March 2026, it published its decisions on 13 July 2026 and brought the deadline forward:
- the £135 duty relief is to end by October 2028 at the latest;
- overseas sellers may need a UK-based fiscal representative who shares liability for the customs debt;
- the duty rate for low value parcels and any extra handling fee were still to be set out in detail when we checked.
As of October 2026 no exact start date has been set. Check GOV.UK before large orders, and see how the UK compares with the EU and Switzerland in our iHerb VAT and duty checker.
Products to think twice about
iHerb tries to remove products that can’t be sent to the UK, but rules change often, and it asks customers to check that what they order is allowed.
Before you buy, think about these:
- Melatonin is a prescription-only medicine in the UK, not a supplement, and the NHS says ordering it online is not recommended. If you sleep badly, book a GP appointment or talk to a pharmacist; our sleep supplements guide explains the evidence.
- Many US products exceed UK guidance, for example vitamin D at 5,000 IU. Our vitamin D guide covers NHS advice and upper limits.
- If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, check every supplement with your midwife or GP. The NHS advises 400 mcg folic acid before conception and up to week 12.
- Herbs and minerals can interact with prescribed medicines such as blood thinners, thyroid tablets and antibiotics. Ask a pharmacist before combining them.
The Supplement Facts guide shows how to check the real dose per serving.
Returns and problems with an iHerb UK order
iHerb’s refund policy is the same worldwide:
- You have 30 days from delivery to request a return, or 90 days for iHerb’s own brands.
- Request the return first. Once it’s approved, send the parcel within 14 days.
- Items should be in the condition you received them, in the original packaging.
- iHerb doesn’t provide a return label for international orders, and return postage or handling may be deducted.
- For larger orders, approved refunds may come as store credit.
